I always wanted to add a Ploprof to my collection but wearing the original was out of the question and even a Helson was a rip off being only a homage. Then Steeldive came up with their interpretation and shortly after the bronze edition came to life...both for a very reasonable price. I also wanted to have a go at patinating a bronze watch for a while so why not combine my two collecting urges and sport a patinated Ploprof. Overall a great and very heavy watch, very, very well made with excellent finish to all surfaces. You will not be disappointed. Well working bezel and lock and screw down crown. Some owners of the steel version said that the crown guard falls off but mine stays put as it should...maybe they improved it from the steel version. Now the tiny things that Steeldive could improve. Watch quality, not much to add except minute details in quality control. 1) My crown guard is about 0.1-0.2mm longer than the case. If you have OCD it might be annoying. You can even see it in the pictures on the website if you know what to look for. Now I know! 2) The green Steeldive sticker on the black plastic shipping box was totally crooked and outside the indentation designed for the label...how difficult can that be? The label doesn't affect the quality of the watch but when you're paying this kind of money you'd expect some level of effort in quality control. 3) There was one tiny spec of dust on the dial. Not visible to the naked eye but watchmaking is about the fine detail so it matters. 4) My watch had fingerprints so you might need to wipe it with lemon or vinegar once it arrives. A small thing that shows that Steeldive makes nice watches but they surely have things to learn in quality control and the fine touch to make a customer happy 100%. 5) The bronze version is sold ONLY with a strap with steel buckle and you need to buy a bronze clasp. These are things that do not heavily distract. Even the long crown guard can be brushed down to match.
