This is my 3rd. Steeldive and the one I wanted first, but I got sidetracked by other models! I finally got the "FF" homage and it is BEAUTIFUL. First, it has the correct size at 41mm. The dial face is small at 28mm. but this is correct for the type and era this watch pays homage too. This watch is not in exact replica either. The bezel is a ceramic disc that has a flat- rather than protruding profile. The edge of the Steeldive bezel is very nicely cut and has a good grip. There is a little "backplay" but the original watch did too. The bezel action improved a lot after working it a few dozen times as well, so the "out-of-the-box" experience may not be what you get after a few days. The overall fit and finish on my watch is excellent. Steel brushing is perfect and the dial and crystal are spotless and very tidy. Fifty Fathoms were tool watches in the 1950's and they were meant to be abused.I have confidence in Steeldive's version. If they read this, I wish they had the "black date wheel" as a standard feature, I think it makes the watch look more refined. I ordered the "no date" version because of this.
