Excellent bowl covers! Fit many sizes of bowls and stretch nicely!! Shown is a picture of using one of the covers on a large cut watermelon.
This was the first time I had tried any kind of silicone food cover. I have used it on dishes and on cut fruits and vegetables, all with great success! I find I really only use a couple of the sizes and wish I had more of them and fewer of the others, but I attribute that to not having used them before. That being said, I think this is the ideal pack for someone who is curious about how much they would use these and for what. Talk about variety! Other than that, I love the bag they come in and I learned the hard way that these will stain if left on tomato sauce too long. Not a huge tragedy, though. My plastic containers suffered the same fate.
Decided to buy these to take snacks like my half grapefruit to work. Snapped it on and put it in my bag...Leak proof, very easy to clean and stretchy! Can’t wait to experiment more.
Great variety of sizes, both square and round. The quality seems REALLY good. Possible uses are endless! I especially love just snapping one on over the cut end of a watermelon or cucumber instead of using plastic wrap, which always gets wet and needs to be replaced every time. It’s just so much neater, and it feels good not to be using and discarding all that plastic wrap. The bowl that I’m holding in a tipped position contains a soupy blueberry sauce and it’s obviously not leaking. I used one to cover chopped onions and noticed it did take on a onion smell almost right away, but I contacted the seller and within 24 hours had some solutions and the smell is gone. I’ve also used them when reheating in the microwave and that works far better than plastic wrap too. I have only washed them by hand so far, so I can’t speak to how they hold up in the dishwasher. So far everything is as advertised, so I’m sure they’ll be just fine in there.
I’m very happy with this set of silicone stretch tops for the obvious benefits; heat safe, easy to wash etc. but also, that they offered round AND square lids. This has eliminated my dilemma of having a couple of missing glass lids for my Corningware casseroles of different sizes and Pyrex, not to mention coffee cups, glasses, bowls etc. I also LOVE the conscious packaging. A burlap bag is provided that allows me to keep the whole collection together and to locate and access at a glance. I will likely order these as gifts for my loved ones and keep a eye on these folks for other products. So very pleased to be able to say with no reservations - BRAVO! Well conceived and well done!!
I bought these to use with bowls that I have that have lost their lids or the lids have cracked over the years. I also have used them on my Corelle cereal bowls. I love the fact that they came with a nice storage bag! It is so much easier to store them in that in the cupboard than to have to find a place to put them in my small kitchen that doesn't have much storage space. They are very easy to use, but you need to put it on a bowl that is close to the same size as the cover because it doesn't work very well to stretch it too far-a little stretch is fine but not too much. They are easy to wash up and I just hang them over my faucet or something else to drip dry. I am glad that I purchased them and would recommend them to anyone who needs to replace old, cracked lids on bowls that are still in good condition!
These are really a wonderful and important addition to any kitchen. Get in the habit of using these covers and continue to reduce your single-use plastic dependency. They are easy to use and clean, and are durable. They stretch to fit even over the handles of containers, such as glass square pans. The nicely made, durable canvas bag is handy to hold the smaller covers neatly. One small caveat from personal experience: don’t let your imaginative little children stretch them very tightly on something to make a drum and beat on them with chopsticks— they might puncture.
I was worried I wouldn’t be able to stretch these covers easily, due to arthritis in my hands, but that hasn’t been a problem. There are MANY sizes, I really only use the largest 3. Several of my bowls/casseroles have handles which make the seal less airtight. I had success microwaving food with these covers on, cleaning them on top rack of dishwasher, and forming airtight seal. When I stored chopped onions briefly in the fridge though, there was a strong onion smell upon opening the door. Still learning!
